Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine

The chronic disease course is one of the more recent additions to the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine's online teaching and learning platform.  This platform, called Rural and Remote Medical Education Online (RRMEO) provides the College's 2,5000 doctor members and other medical subscribers with 24-hour access to services such as tele-medicine (e.g. dermatology, mental health, and radiology) and clinical guidelines that can be downloaded to smart phones. 

The College uses RRMEO and teleconferencing technology to conduct assessments, saving candidates the time and expense of travelling to major centres.  RRMEO also offers a range of forums in which rural and remote practitioners can interact with peers, mentors and supervisors.

Established in 1997, ACRRM is the only college in the world dedicated to setting and maintaining standards for the practice of medicine in rural and remote locations.
